Bamboo chabana vase (ichi-ju-giri)

Fashioned from a section of bamboo including the root, with a cut-out section at the front for flowers and a hole at the back for hanging, known in Japan as an ichi-jo-giri (single cut vase). A tea masters sign (kao) in red lacquer to the rear. 25cm high, 10cm diameter. Together with an old Japanese wooden box.
