Pair of Beijing enamel dishes
Beijing (probably Imperial workshops), China
Qing Dynasty (1644-1912), Qianlong Period (1736-1795)
Decorated in mirror image with landscape scenes to the interior, surrounded by two borders, the inner with scrolling flowers against a yellow ground, the outer border with floral reserves and qilong roundels against a cash-diaper ground. The reverse exquisitely decorated with a scrolling qilong in blue against a yellow ground, the outer border with scrolling flowers against a green ground. 4.5cm high, 26.5cm diameter. One small stress-hairline crack to each dish to the interior (production flaw related to differential cooling). R&V Tregaskis No.2737 label affixed to the base. Together with a Chinese cloth-bound fitted box.
