Of superb spherical form in grey stoneware with a waisted neck and cup-shaped mouth, decorated with five well impressed flying cranes to the shoulder (a precursor to impressed and slip-filled decoration in the middle Goryeo), with dark natural ash glaze to the upper surfaces from kiln ash. 8cm high, 8cm diameter. Together with a Japanese wooden box.
